Large-Scale Garden-Inspired Arrangements Atelier - Sunday, August 23, 2026 | 1 PM–5 PM

An exploration of scale, movement, and the abundance of the late summer garden.

This intimate hands-on atelier is designed for those who wish to deepen their understanding of floral design by working beyond the bouquet and into larger, more expressive arrangements.

Using seasonal flowers and foliage gathered from the orchard garden, participants will work together to create a single large-scale floral composition while exploring the principles that allow arrangements to feel both abundant and natural. Together, we will work through mechanics, structure, proportion, balance, and the relationship between flowers and space.

Rather than following a formula or recreating a predetermined design, you will learn how to observe the natural character of each stem and use it intentionally within a larger composition. Throughout the afternoon, Julie will share the techniques and design considerations she uses when creating arrangements for weddings, editorial work, and special events.

This atelier centres on the creative process rather than a take-home design. Participants will collaborate on one statement arrangement, gaining hands-on experience working at a scale that would be difficult to explore individually. The finished arrangement will remain at Fleuris Orchard & Blooms following the atelier.

With only four participants, there is ample opportunity for discussion, questions, and individual guidance.

Important to know

This is a collaborative design experience imited to 4 participants in the Fleuris Orchard Garden and design studio. Participants will work together on a shared large-scale arrangement and will not be creating individual arrangements to take home.

Who this atelier is for

This atelier is well suited to floral designers, flower farmers, gardeners, and creative individuals who wish to gain confidence working with flowers on a larger scale. Previous floral experience is helpful but not required.
