Pressed Flowers & Botanicals Atelier - August 9, 2026 - 1 to 5 PM

A contemplative way of working with flowers & botanicals gathered through the seasons.

In this atelier, we move away from arranging and into preserving, learning to hold the fleeting beauty of the garden in a more lasting form.

Using seasonal flowers, foliage, seed pods, grasses, herbs, and botanical materials gathered from the orchard garden, you will be guided through the process of pressing with care and intention, paying close attention to colour, form, texture, and the subtle details that emerge over time.

This is a slower and more observational approach to working with flowers and nature, where composition unfolds gradually and each botanical element is considered for its movement, character, and presence once preserved.

Rather than creating a finished piece in a single sitting, you will begin building your own collection of pressed flowers and botanicals that can continue evolving at home over time.

During the atelier, we will:

• Select flowers and botanicals at the right stage for pressing
• Explore how different varieties behave once preserved
• Learn techniques to maintain colour and structure
• Begin pressing a personal collection gathered from the garden

You will leave with:

• A personal flower press to continue working with at home
• A selection of flowers and botanicals for you to continue pressing at home
• Guidance on how to continue the process beyond the atelier
• The knowledge to develop your own pressed botanical practice over time

Practical details:

• Duration: 3.5 to 4 hours from 1 to 5PM
• Group size: Intimate and intentionaly kept small
